Public Lecture: «Governing the Ottoman Eastern Borderlands (1895-1899)»
In her lecture İlkay Yılmaz investigates the political transformations occurring in the Ottoman eastern borderlands between 1895 and 1899, subsequent to the Memorandum of Great Powers in 1895. Emphasizing the interplay between internal colonialism and security strategies, the study reassesses the intersections of European colonial methodologies and Ottoman internal colonial practices.
