Heritable Human Genome Editing

Online panel with invited experts

Our colleague, Corinne Othenin-Girard, has launched a project on Heritable Human Genome Editing. You are kindly invited to take part in the discussions online on the project's website as well as to the upcoming zoom-event with invited experts.

The aim of the project is to raise public awareness about this highly sensitive and controversial topic and to encourage discussion. Human Germline Gene editing (HGGE) could change the future of humanity if the technology of genome editing on germ cells is allowed. HGGE researchers are convinced of the benefits of the new method. They argue that with this method there would be no more disabilities because all hereditary disabilities could be "edited out". The project includes an interactive website with information about HGGE. People are invited to post their opinions and questions about this topic on the site to foster a debate.

The zoom-event takes place on: September 9, 2022 from 17:00 - 21:00 (CEST)
