The Forum Basiliense aims to foster exchange and collaboration between scholars of the humanities and social sciences, life sciences and the natural sciences.
For the year 2026, the intellectual focus of our international fellows is on "Conflict and Cooperation", a topic that requires trans- and interdisciplinary collaboration more than almost any other.
Today, Dominic Rohner, Professor of Economics at the Geneva Graduate Institute and Cambridge-trained economist, will present his book ‘The Peace Formula’, which draws on historical evidence to argue that jobs, democratic participation, and state security are the key ingredients for curbing armed conflict and achieving lasting peace.
