The Graduate School of Social Sciences (G3S) is the umbrella structure for all doctoral students enrolled in a doctoral program in the social sciences.

As part of the Department of Social Sciences, we belong to the overall university structure of the Faculty of Humanities . We include a number of smaller subject-specific sub-programs. In addition to the G3S, there are other doctoral programs at the Faculty.

Are you enrolled in one of the social science doctoral subjects or affiliated with one of the subject-specific sub-programs? Then you can become a member of the G3S! We support doctoral students individually and in addition to their supervisors in all aspects of their doctoral studies. We also organize opportunities for academic exchange between doctoral students and promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the department. As a member of G3S, you are cordially invited to actively influence and co-determine the services offered by G3S according to your needs. Two representatives of the doctoral students each have the right to vote on the governing body.

If you have any questions about doctoral studies, you are welcome to contact us - even if you are not (yet) a member or are doing your doctorate in the social sciences independently of the G3S curriculum.
