DESCRIPTION:Doing a PhD is a challenging endeavor. This course faces this c
 hallenge head on and aims at supporting members of the Graduate School of 
 Social Sciences (G3S) and the PhD Students of Digital Humanities in starti
 ng their PhD theses. Key topics include time management\, strategies and t
 ricks for communication within and beyond the university\, communication a
 nd setting expectations with your supervisors\, help with administrative i
 ssues and peer support. Additionally\, there will be room to reflect on in
 dividual problems\, practical and emotional challenges and solution strate
 gies. Besides the meetings in class throughout the semester\, participants
  have the possibility to meet the lecturers individually to get additional
  advice.\\r\\nThis course is open for all members of the G3S who are in th
 e first to third semester of their thesis. The number of participants will
  be limited to 15 persons.\\r\\nIf you are interested in attending this co
 urse\, please write an email including your motivation and a short stateme
 nt on the progress of your work (1/2-1 page max.) to michelle.engeler@uni
