The G3S is strategically steered by an executive executive committee. Doctoral members of G3S have a say in this committee. On the one hand, two mandates with voting rights on the committee are held by doctoral students. On the other hand, doctoral students can attend the committee meetings as guests without voting rights and influence all issues discussed by participating in the discussions. The members of the G3S elect two representatives to the executive committee. Guests are admitted to the executive committee for a period of at least one semester.
As part of the executive committee, the doctoral students help decide on the G3S budget, the semester program and the awarding of starting scholarships. They are also involved in university policy issues aimed at improving doctoral education. The representatives are available to all members for concerns that they pass on to the executive committee. Twice a year, they invite all G3S members to a general meeting to discuss current issues and concerns.
